Andrew Corke is a part-time Clinical Lecturer at the School of Dentistry, responsible for one-to-one teaching of dental students during patient treatment sessions. Outside of the School he is a General Dental Practitioner in Solihull.
Andrew is also the Postgraduate Tutor for Birmingham, organising postgraduate courses for local dental practitioners and their teams.
He is a Vocational Training advisor within the West Midlands and is responsible for organising and running one of the West Midlands VT schemes.
Andrew qualified in Dentistry from the University of Birmingham in 1983. Following a year in hospital as a house officer he undertook his vocational training year in a dental practice in Birmingham following which, he stayed on as, first an associate and then as a partner until he sold the practice in 2003. During his time in practice he became an experienced Dental Foundation Trainer. He was appointed part-time clinical lecturer at the School of Dentistry in 1997 and the Postgraduate Dental Tutor for Birmingham in 2004.
In 2006 he was appointed a VT advisor for the West Midlands.
He still enjoys general practice and since 2005 works part time in a dental practice in Solihull.
