About

Dominic is a lecturer in conservative dentistry, Chair of the BDS Final examination written paper panel and co-ordinator of BRIDGE – Birmingham Research in General Dental Practice, a practice-based research group operating across the West Midlands.

Dominic is an enthusiastic clinical teacher and has had a long association with the supervision and mentoring of Final Year dental undergraduates.

Dominic has over 20 publications and his research interests range from investigations of dental materials, dental education and promoting the use of research in dental practice.

Biography

Dr. Stewardson received his first degree from Glasgow University and spent several years in specialist restorative training posts across the UK and a year in San Francisco, before entering private practice. After ten years in practice during, which time Dominic became a specialist in prosthodontics, Dominic took on the role of a part-time teacher at the University of Birmingham in 1994. In 2001 Dominic accepted the post of lecturer in conservative dentistry and was nominated for the MDUs Dental Teacher of the Year in 2003 and 2004. Dominic became a specialist in restorative dentistry in 2006 and was awarded his PhD in 2009.
