The conference Revealing The Reader brought together scholars with a common interest in contemporary and historical reading practices with the aim of showcasing current research in this rapidly expanding field, and providing a forum for discussion and debate on the state of reading research. It was hosted by the Centre for the Book at Monash University.
Danielle’s keynote lecture, ‘“And then we went to the brewery!”: Readers’ Pleasures Revealed?’, drew on her research as chief investigator on the Beyond the Book research project into mass reading events.
While in Melbourne Danielle also ran a Masterclass on Reading at the Wheeler Centre, which focussed on using mixed methods of research to investigate contemporary cultures of reading.
