The Uses of Poetry

In connection with National Poetry Day 2011, Dr Kate Rumbold will be hosting, with Dr Abigail Williams (Oxford), a one-day forum on ‘The Uses of Poetry’ at the Shakespeare Institute on Saturday 8 October.  The forum will bring together experts from psychology, education, creative writing and literacy in a round-table discussion about the past and future roles of poetry in lifelong learning.  It is hoped that this discussion will form the basis of future collaborations and public and academic events.
