Having completed a BA (Hons) degree in Geography in 1997 at The University of Birmingham, I returned to the University as an employee in 2003. In the intervening years I qualified as a Commercial Insurance Underwriter, before deciding to go travelling for 7 months in 2002 around Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. I returned to the UK in September 2002 to study for an MSc Degree in Tourism, Development and Policy at Exeter University. Since 2003 I have been working as an Administrator at The Shakespeare Institute, in Stratford-upon-Avon.
My current responsibilities focus on Admissions and looking after the current students at the Shakespeare Institute, as well as supporting the academics and updating the website. I also organise all the induction activities for the new students. Along with Rebecca White, we run the Shakespeare Institute Office.
As hinted at the beginning, my main love is travelling, with my favourite destinations being Australia and Italy. I am also a huge fan of music, particularly live music and I try to go to as many gigs as possible. I am keen on photography, particularly landscape photography although I am just an amateur! I try to spend as much time with friends and family as possible and working in Stratford-upon-Avon means that I get to see a lot of plays at The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. I have recently become a keen grower and cook of my own fruit and veg.
