RSC workshop opportunities

RSC artists Mark Quartley and Josh Roche invite University of Birmingham students to take part in two workshops in the RSC’s The Other Place theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, of which the University is a founding partner.

Public transport costs to and from Edgbaston/Stratford for any students who wish to participate will be reimbursed by the School.

Josh is an Assistant Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company, working last year with Maria Aberg and Polly Findlay on Dr Faustus and The Alchemist, and in 2015 withGreg Doranon Death of a Salesman.

Mark is an actor who recently played Ariel in the RSC’s production of The Tempest.  Mark’s previous theatre work includes Written on the Heart and Measure for Measure (RSC 2011/12), Private Peaceful (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Macbeth (Trafalgar Studios), Ghosts (Rose theatre, Kingston) and a regular role in the television comedy Hoff the Record. 

Josh Roche

  • Workshop: Unpacking directorial methods (with a focus on the RSC’s production of Dr Faustus) 
  • Date: 16 May 2017 (13:00-15:00)

Mark Quartley

  • Workshop: Dispelling myths surrounding Shakespeare in performance
  • Date: 18 May 2017 (13:00-15:00)
