About us

Teaching excellence is a keynote feature of Professional Education. Indeed, both the Primary and Secondary ITE routes were rated as ‘Outstanding’ in the 2013 OFSTED inspection. The Department incorporates members who are engaged in highly-regarded Initial Teacher Education programmes. The primary specialism offers both general and early years training resulting in the Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Education (PGCE Advanced) whilst the Secondary specialism is available in 11 subjects leading towards a PGDipEd (QTS).
