Postgraduate Researchers

The Department of Professional Education, welcomes all types of postgraduate researchers and provides a wide range of support and facilities.

Following a successful completion of their PGDipEd and first year of teaching in secondary and primary schools. Over 90 students return to study for a Masters in Teaching Studies with us. We also work with postgraduate researchers. A selection of their profiles may be viewed below:

Claire Largan

Description
Claire is investigating the experiences of progression and transition from Foundation Degree (FdA) to Bachelor of Arts (BA) for part-time, mature, female students

This interdisciplinary research project looks at the experiences that Farsi/English bilingual learners have in learning mathematics in different kinds of settings

Steven Alan Davies

Description
This research takes a multi-disciplinary approach to exploring how and why the paradigms associated with Sunni Islam are normative in Religious Education

Tom Harrison

Description
Tom is researching how the Internet influences the character virtues of 11-14 year olds in England
