If you have completed your high school education to a high standard and you would normally require a foundation year, before being eligible for first year undergraduate entry to universities in the UK. You may wish to consider the Birmingham Foundation Academy which offers you pathways in each of the five colleges, including Social Science, with progression to almost any undergraduate programme upon successful completion.
We have a large number of postgraduate programmes in the School of Education (called 'graduate education' in North America). Popular programmes include the MA International Studies in Education (with specialisms in Education and Development), Special Educational Needs and Disabilities ('SEND') and the TEFL programme.
Opportunities to study may also be found on other courses within the school, particularly on many of the campus based Professional Development Programmes which have progression pathways leading to Masters level. Many of these courses are unique and may be found in few other places in the UK.
If you are interested in doctoral research, please view the Postgraduate Research pages. There is also an opportunity to embark on a joint PhD programme if you are a student at one of the participating universities which will enable you to live and work in two countries.
