FEAPDA Congress 2011: Literacy in deaf children

Dr Linda Watson, Head of the Department of Disability Inclusion and Needs at the School of Education spoke at the European Federation of Associations of Teachers of the Deaf (FEAPDA) Congress at Sint-Michielsgestel in the Netherlands. The conference, from 20 to 23 October 2011 was on the theme of ‘Literacy in deaf children.’ Linda was one of four keynote speakers and she talked about the role of parents in the reading process, home literacy and the language environment, and the influence on the reading process.
