Professor James Arthur, Director of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues, recently gave a key note speech at the UNICEF Conference in Montenegro. His talk on 'Strengthening Character, Virtues and Values through Education' focused on how character education can help students grasp what is ethically important in situations and how to act for the right reasons, so that they become more autonomous and reflective.
His talk was part of the UNICEF Quality Education for Better Schools, Results and Future at the three day conference which aimed to open a public debate on the best ways to accelerate the education system reform in three key areas: increasing the number of children attending pre-school education, improving the quality of education and introducing innovative approaches to teaching and learning. At the conference, Professor Arthur also participated in an Activate Talk. These talks bring together innovators, experts and thought-leaders to showcase the latest innovations. His particular Activate Talk focused on innovations for inspired teaching and learning.
