The School of Education has been allocated funding by the College of Social Sciences for PhD studentships commencing in September 2015. The funding available allows us to offer two PhD studentships (tuition fees and stipend of £13,870). The studentships are only available toHome/EU students

Applications must be submitted to Helen Joinson (H.E.Joinson@bham.ac.uk) by 5 June 2015 and must comprise:

  • a CV of no more than two pages, including academic qualifications (with degree classifications), relevant professional experience and (if applicable) publications
  • two academic references (these may be the same references submitted for admission to the PhD programme)
  • a research proposal of no more than 800 words
  • a supporting statement from the (prospective) supervisor of no more than 500 words

Applications will be considered by a School of Education selection panel and decisions made by the end of June.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must either have applied to start a PhD in the School in September 2015, or be registered PhD students in the School in their first year of full-time or first two years of part-time study.
