The School of Education has been allocated funding by the College of Social Sciences for PhD studentships commencing in September 2016. The funding available allows us to offer one full-time PhD studentship (tuition fees and maintenance award of £14,296), plus a fees only award (full-time or part-time). These awards are only available to Home/EU students.
Applications must be submitted to Helen Joinson (H.E.Joinson@bham.ac.uk) by 7 June 2016 and must comprise:
- a CV of no more than two pages, including academic qualifications (with degree classifications), relevant professional experience and (if applicable) publications
- two academic references (these may be the same references submitted for admission to the PhD programme)
- a research proposal of no more than 800 words
- a supporting statement from the (prospective) supervisor of no more than 500 words
Applications will be considered by a School of Education selection panel and decisions made by the end of June.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must either have applied to start a PhD in the School in September 2016, or be registered PhD students in the School in their first year of full-time or first two years of part-time study.
