The University of Birmingham are delighted to present this event, part of the Economic and Social Research Council Festival of Social Science 2017.

This is an online ‘autistic perspectives’ event, hosted by the Autism Centre for Education and Research (ACER) with three autistic speakers talking about the topics of ‘ Including autistic stakeholders’; ‘Autism and Gender’ and ‘Building on the strengths of autistic people'. The field of autism studies is in its infancy in terms of considering genuine autistic participation in research, teaching, knowledge exchange and public engagement. The event will therefore give participants valuable insight into different ways in which the inclusion of autistic participants can make a positive difference. The website will be open for participants to pose questions from the 4th to 10th November and will culminate in an online event on the 10th November in which our autistic speakers will be available to answer questions and participate in discussion.
