Tracy Whatmore joined the School of Education in September 2012. She is the Senior Tutor (Student Development and Support) for the School of Education, and Primary Link Tutor for MA Education. Previous roles have included Partnership Co-ordinator, Primary Lead for School Direct, Acting Head of Primary English and Admissions Tutor. Tracy currently teaches Professional Studies and Primary English on the PGDip in Primary Education (PGCE Advanced) Primary and Early Years course. She is a Personal Tutor to students on Postgraduate and Undergraduate Education programmes. Tracy supervises students undertaking Undergraduate and Masters dissertations, and EdD/PhD students.

Before working at the University of Birmingham, Tracy worked at Newman University for ten years, as Programme Leader for Masters Provision, and previously as Programme Leader for the Primary and KS2/3 Education programmes. Prior to this she worked at Birmingham City University as Director of BA (Hons) Early Childhood Education, and contributed to Early Childhood Studies, Initial Teacher Education, Masters and PhD provision. Tracy's career in Education began as a Lecturer in Further Education and as a Primary School Teacher, and acting Head Teacher. Her research interests include professional development, partnership, international and comparative education, early childhood education, policy studies.
