Applicant visit days

We strongly encourage our UCAS applicants to visit the School of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering here at the University of Birmingham in order that they can get a real taste of what it is like to study here.

The Gisbert Kapp building

We would like to invite you to visit the University on one of our admissions days, to learn more about our courses, to see the excellent facilities in the School and to see the University of Birmingham's beautiful campus. This is also a good opportunity to talk with current students, the Admissions Tutor and other members of academic teaching staff about studying at the University of Birmingham.

The day will also provide you with:

  • Information on careers and what it is like to work in engineering, together with further studies opportunities
  • Information on IET membership and the importance of C.Eng. status
  • Information on obtaining sponsorship and work placements

The admissions day will start at 10:30am in the School of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering. There will be presentations and a tour of the campus and halls of residence. After lunch, presentations on the degree programmes and on student life, finance and careers and an opportunity to speak to our current students. This is followed by a tour of the building and your interview with a member of academic staff.  The interviews give you a chance to tell us more about yourself and your interests in Electronic, Electrical or Systems Engineering.
