Electronic, Electrical and Computer Engineering at Edgbaston campus

By foot/car

The Department is building No G8 on the University of Birmingham Edgbaston Campus map (PDF 1.2MB). It is located at the north east end of the main campus of the University of Birmingham (also called the Gisbert Kapp Building) at 52 Pritchatts Road, and is opposite the Health Sciences Building.

Cross over Pritchatts Road, go through the lower car park area barriers and walk up the steps to the Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering reception area. We have a very helpful receptionist that can direct you to the offices of the people meeting you.

By train

The University Station is located near the West Gate of the campus. When you come out of the station, turn left onto University Road West. As you stroll down the hill, you see Faraday's sculpture on your right hand side and the newly developed West campus buildings. At the end of the road you reach the junction to the Ring road. Follow the ring road to the left, go under the Muirhead Tower, until you see on your left the Gisbert Kapp Building (see point G8 on campus map).

By bus

There are frequent bus services to the main University campus from various locations in Birmingham. Numbers 61 and 63 travel from Corporation Street to the University. These buses pass by Bristol Road and stop near the University's South Gate and Edgbaston Park Road. Enter campus through the South Gate and follow the path. Turn right at the road crossing, walk past the Guild of Students on your left hand side (No 38 on campus map), the Barber Institute of Arts on your left (building 41), and the School of Education on your right (building 45). Turn right, walk past the car park barriers, cross Pritchatts Road and past the next car park barriers, go up the steps on your left and the building in front is the one.
