The Lapworth Museum of Geology has the finest and most extensive collections of fossils, minerals and rocks in the Midlands. It dates back to 1880, and is one of the oldest specialist geological museums in the UK. The museum supports teaching and research in the Earth Sciences and natural history within the University and the West Midlands region.
A major redevelopment of the Lapworth Museum of Geology started December 2014 following the award of a £1.56m Heritage Lottery Fund grant. Find out more about the redevelopment of The Museum.
