Dr Gregor Leckebusch has won a grant for research in collaboration with local SME business Saturn Bioponics Ltd, as part of the ABIA (Accelerating Business-Knowledge Base Innovation Activity) Programme.

In this specific collaboration, research has been conducted to assess the geographical locations most likely to gain significant benefits from a newly-developed vertical growing system for crop production. This will enable Saturn Bioponics Ltd to evidence the commercial viability of their product to those regions and countries.

The ABIA project engages with SME businesses in the West Midlands, supporting collaborative innovation with the knowledge-base at the University and fully-funding associated research.
