Natalie Malupa, Msc Environmental Health

The Msc in Environmental Health course is extremely well structured and covers all aspects of Environmental Health.

The law module is particularly a selling point, taught by a barrister with a wealth of experience in dealing with Environmental Health cases. As part of the law module we had the opportunity to put together a law prosecution file and take part in a mock trial which I found to be an excellent way of learning and will prove invaluable in my future career as an Environmental Health Officer (EHO).

The university has external links with local authorities this was very useful for my dissertation meaning I was able to conduct research at Birmingham and Sandwell councils. I also found the course lecturers to be very approachable and supportive throughout my time on the course. The course has provided me with a sound base of knowledge and greatly increased my confidence meaning I was successful in getting a placement at Chelmsford Borough council. Overall I believe that the course has set me up with the right knowledge and skills to develop my future career as an EHO.
