In 2008, Eng. Abdullah Alhamoudi obtained his Bachelor Degree (first class honours in addition to the highest GPA in the department) in Urban and Regional Planning from King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. After that, he worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of URP at Dammam University from 2008 to 2013. He then got a scholarship to pursue his Masters Degree which he obtained in 2013 from the Department of Planning at the University of New South Wales, Australia. His masters thesis was mainly focused on the Compact City approach and sustainable development, Sydney as a case study. Upon graduation, he returned to Saudi Arabia to serve as a lecturer at the Department of URP of the University of Dammam. In 2015, he got another scholarship to pursue his doctoral Degree at the University of Birmingham.
Eng. Abdullah has attended a number of training courses held in Saudi Arabia or overseas such as:
- Trainee in the Saudi Electricity Company (Planning Department) for 3 months, 2007.
- Trainee in the Planning Department of the Cologne University in Germany, 3 Weeks, 2006.
Eng. Abdullah also taught a number of undergraduate academic courses such as city management, planning policy, housing and regulations and planning theory in the Department of URP at the University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
