Colin Manning is undertaking doctoral research into multivariate extreme events, known as compound events, where he is looking to gain understanding of the multivariate nature of drought and heat wave events.

Biography

Colin undertook a BSc in Environmental Science at University College Cork, Ireland before going on to do an MSc in Applied Meteorology and Climatology here at University of Birmingham. Following the MSc, he began his PhD in February 2015 under the supervision of Dr Martin Widmann and Dr Anne Van Loon.
