Upuli Perera is researching Sustainable Housing Affordability (SHA) which emerged as an essential part of liveable cities. Based on the theoretical arguments enunciated on Communicative Planning and combining those with Giddens Theory of Structuration, the study is particularly looking at how SHA was understood and implemented in the Sustainable Urban Extensions and New Settlements in England and how planning practices need to be in shape to deliver SHA outcomes. Within the case study strategy for empirical evidences, the research will follow Mix Method approach; will use both quantitative methods such as questionnaire surveys followed by Factor and Cluster Analysis, and also in-depth interviews with stakeholders, subsequent to Discourse analysis and Content analysis.
