Professor Mohit Bhattacharya

Mohit BhattacharyaProfessor Mohit Bhattacharya who was the first graduate of IDD/INLOGOV. Until recently he was Vice Chancellor of Burdwan University in West Bengal and National Fellow of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. He remains an active writer in public administration and governance.

Years ago when INLOGOV was located in a small cottage surrounded by apple orchard in Winterbourne and the small faculty had such celebrities as Henry Maddick, Hedley Marshall, and Ronald Wraith, Professor Mohit Bhattacharya from India joined INLOGOV and passed out as the first graduate of IDD/INLOGOV.  Until recently he was Vice Chancellor of Burdwan University in West Bengal and National Fellow of the Indian Council of Social Science Research. He remains an active writer in public administration and governance. He has been chairperson of two major state commissions; one on municipal finance and another on municipal reforms. He had been an Honorary Fellow of Birmingham University.
