GSDRC core funding renewed

The Governance and Social Development Resource Centre’s core funding from the UK Government has been renewed to the end of 2011

The GSDRC is a small but high-impact policy research unit and the renewal of its core funding demonstrates its continued importance in delivering research findings to international policy-makers and practitioners. It has been described as one of the most influential international development and humanitarian policy think tanks in the UK because of the close working relationships with policymakers and practitioners it has developed over the past ten years. GSDRC research reports are relied on to inform ministerial briefings, high-level policy decisions, national strategies, and the planning, implementation, and evaluation of development programmes and projects around the world.

The GSDRC provides just-in-time research services to the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the Australian Government’s international development agency AusAID, and many other international agencies.  DFID has been the main funder of the GSDRC (and its predecessor, the Governance Resource Centre) since 2001.
