ESRC PhD Scholarships

Posted on Thursday 7th November 2013

The Department of Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS) and the School of Government and Society invite applications from high-quality applicants for PhD study funded by our ESRC Doctoral Training Centre.

Those with excellent track records of achievement, high-quality research proposals, and an identified Birmingham supervisor with relevant expertise have the best prospects of success.

Applications from all areas of Political Science and International studies are encouraged.

Candidates whose research falls within 'Language-Based Area Studies' are particularly welcome, and a number of awards are set aside for this pathway. The Centre for Russian and East European Studies (CREES) and Institute for German Studies (IGS) are centres of particular expertise within POLSIS.

Interested parties should contact Dr Adam Quinn, a.j.quinn@bham.ac.uk as soon as possible to discuss their application. Formal applications must be submitted to the Department by 6pm on Tuesday December 10 2013 to be considered for ESRC funding.
