The Deputy Foreign Minister of Albania Odeta Barbullushi delivered a special lecture entitled, 'From Europe's troubled periphery to security provider: Albanian Foreign Policy in Regional and European Context' in a joint Department of Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS), Centre for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies (CREES) and the Institute for Conflict, Cooperation and Security (ICCS) event.

The Head of POLSIS, Dr Tim Haughton, who was Dr Barbullushi's PhD supervisor and who organized the visit commented, 'It was an honour and a pleasure to welcome back Odeta to Birmingham and to listen to her analysis of the security challenges facing Albania and how her country is seeking to meet those challenges'.
