Professor Sarah Colvin joined the Institute of German Studies as its new Director in July 2010. Professor Sarah Colvin was previously Eudo C. Mason Chair of German at the University of Edinburgh.
From November 2010, the Institute is launching a major new research project called Zeitgeist: What does it mean to be German in the 21st century? Scholars, students, and all those interested are invited to join us at the University of Birmingham for a series of seminar debates with leading international thinkers, for a lively exchange of ideas.
Seminars are led by national and international experts from academia, politics, and industry. Topics include:
