Dr Tim Haughton (CREES, Government and Society) has been awarded an Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation Fellowship to work on a project examining the sources of stability and instability of party politics in Central and Eastern Europe. He will spend the 2011-12 academic year at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC.

The project seeks to explain the patterns of party system stability and instability in ten states in Central and Eastern Europe and builds on the work he has already undertaken looking at the Czech, Slovak and Slovene cases.
