CREES Scholar Gives Talk to US State Department Officials

Tim Haughton (CREES) gave a lecture on political parties in East-Central Europe to the US State Department’s Foreign Service Institute in Washington DC.

Demonstrating the continuing strong policy-relevant research conducted by academics at the University of Birmingham, Tim Haughton (CREES) spoke to officials at the US State Department’s Foreign Services Institute about political parties in East-Central Europe. In particular, he focused on the underlying dynamics of shaping stability and instability in party politics in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, but also drew wider lessons about the motors of change in politics across Central and Eastern Europe.
