We have been welcoming international students onto our campus since our inception in 1900 - and with almost 5,000 international students from over 150 different countries, we now boast one of the largest and most vibrant international student communities in the UK.

The mix of people, nationalities and cultures on campus greatly enriches our learning and teaching environment, ensuring that our students, academic staff and partners across the world benefit from the experience that the University of Birmingham has to offer. 

Support for international students

Birmingham Foundation Academy
If you are highly motivated and have an excellent academic record but you don’t meet the entry requirements for our undergraduate programmes, the Birmingham Foundation Academy is your pathway to successful undergraduate study at Birmingham or other top UK universities.
