In the latest Guardian University Guide 2014 Birmingham ranked 15th out of 128 institutions surveyed. The School of Government and Society performed well both with Politics and Sociology appearing appearing in the top 10 in their respective fields.
In the 2014 Politics league table Birmingham is ranked 10th out of the 77 universities listed from across the country. This includes high performances in a variety of areas including 91% of students satisfied with teaching and 86% of students satisfied with the course.
Sociology also performed well, making it to 8th place with 86% of students satisfied with teaching.
Our performance in the Guardian League table this year is a fitting recognition of the hard work and professionalism of all staff in the School of Government and Society and their commitment to excellence in learning and teaching." Dr Graham Timmins, Director of Education.
The University of Birmingham as a whole improved their rankings over last year's position, being ranked 15th out of 128 universities in the 2014 league table. This was a rise of 15 positions from the 2013 rankings.
