This on-campus event is open to undergraduates, providing students with the opportunity to identify a potential threat to international peace and security, and to role play UN Security Council members as their chosen crisis unfolds.

With the help of the School of Government and Society staff and the University Model UN Society you will prepare your country ‘position’ on the issue, stay in ‘national’ character during Security Council debate, and hopefully draft a resolution by the end of the exercise.

Model United Nations on Campus 2012
On Friday 20 January 2012 the School of Government and Society held two Model United Nations debates as part of its programmes of events to enhance student experience. Supported by staff from IDD and POLSIS and with additional help from the UN Society based in the Guild, the event involved almost 50 Undergraduate students being assigned country roles in two debates.
