Masters in Public Administration (MPA)
Sonia Boddie, who is studying a Masters in Public Administration, talks about her experiences at Birmingham and the opportunities she has has whilst studying for her Masters.
The University of Birmingham is a great university, there is excellent academic support, the courses are very well structured and you not only get theoretical knowledge but you also get practical knowledge and you are able to immerse in a very multi-diverse culture on the environment the campus is just beautiful, such a nice green environment.
Outside of my studies I’ve been a postgraduate student ambassador, I also represented the university at the Harvard National United Nations debate held in Boston and it was an amazing experience. Firstly I had to compete against many students to secure a place to be a part of the eight member delegation that represented the university and I must say it was a great personal and professional experience and I’ve certainly met a lot of new friends.
Life after Birmingham looks amazing I must say with the knowledge I’ve acquired here and the experience I think I’m certainly even more marketable in the job market and even though I’m employed with my government I can see myself having a career in other international bodies in years to come.
