Alison Coates is a lecturer in mental health nursing with a particular interest in older adult mental health care. She is also the Lead for Teaching and Learning in Nursing and leads on curriculum development issues.

Biography
Alison trained as a mental health and adult nurse in Salford and Manchester. As a clinical nurse Alison worked in older adult care and in forensic nursing as a Charge Nurse. She joined the University as a part time lecturer (teaching), in 1995. Since this time she has contributed and taught on undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Alison has held a variety of roles within the nursing division including Mental Health Branch Co-ordinator and Programme Director. She is currently the Lead for Teaching and Learning.
