I passionately care about my role as a clinical skills tutor for health care students and I am always looking for different innovations that can be utilised for teaching students their practical skills.

This in the past has given me recognition in the form of the Head of Schools Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2007 which I shared with a physiotherapy colleague

I qualified as a R.G.N. in 1993 at Birmingham Heartlands hospital. After consolidating my training I went to accomplish my degree in Nursing and then onto a MA in Education in 2008.

I went on to become a specialised nurse in Wolverhampton splitting my time as a Clinical Skills Facilitator at Wolverhampton University which I undertook for 4 years following a period of extension and a Specialist Nurse in the Community

I then secured this post at Birmingham University as a Clinical Skills Tutor and now Lead Clinical Skills Tutor for Nursing and Common foundation Co- Coordinator.

Ensuring and securing an E-Learning tool for Infection Control for use within the Nursing curriculum, Putting together Financial Bids for practical equipment.

I am member of the staff, student committee, learning resource committee and an active member of the admissions team. I also undertake internal moderation and marking for several modules.
