Biruntha is a senior analyst for the medtech team at the NIHR Horizon Scanning Research & Intelligence Centre, based in the Public Health, Epidemiology & Biostatistics department.
The NIHR HSRIC provides early warning to national policy makers and the NHS of new and emerging technologies that may require evaluation, consideration of clinical and cost impact, or modification of clinical guidance.
Dr Senthinathan began working at the NIHR Horizon Scanning Research & Intelligence Centre, formerly the NIHR Horizon Scanning Centre, in March 2011.
She gained a 2(i) BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (honours in Developmental Biology) and worked in developmental biology and molecular biology laboratories before completing a PhD in developmental biology in 2010.
She has also worked as a trainee manager in the public health and commissioning department at a primary care trust and has been involved in the relaunch and running of a voluntary sector organisation.
