Rebecca Fellows is a Horizon Analyst at the National Institute for Health Research Horizon Scanning Centre (NIHR HSC). The NIHR HSC provides early warning to the Department of Health of new and emerging health technologies which may require evaluation, consideration of clinical and cost impact, or modification of clinical guidance.
Rebecca Fellows graduated in 2009 with a first class honours degree in Health Studies, and joined the NIHR HSC in August 2009.
As a member of the Drugs Team, Rebecca’s main role is conducting secondary research on pharmaceutical technologies which are due to launch in the UK within the next three years. This involves writing brief reports which summarise technologies on the basis of safety, efficacy, clinical and cost effectiveness. These reports assist key national policy-makers, including the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), the National Specialised Commissioning Group (NSCG) and the NIHR Health Technology Assessment programme.
