Charlotte Price (née Bean) joined the Public Health, Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit in September 2010 as a Lecturer in Biostatistics. Her main responsibility is the development of distance learning materials to support the teaching of statistics.
She obtained a Master of Mathematics (MMath) degree (1999), followed by a PhD in Computer Science (2004), from the University of Hull. Her PhD research considered the design and implementation of a data clustering algorithm using rough set theory, a mathematical tool for dealing with uncertainty in data. She more recently completed an MSc in Applied Statistics by distance learning at Sheffield Hallam University (2010).
Following a short stint as a Data Mining Analyst at QinetiQ in Malvern, Charlotte worked as a Research Fellow at Warwick Medical School for five years. She enjoys working on a variety of projects applying statistics to medical research
