Clive Liles leads on the PGCert (Advancing Practice) Extended Scope Practice Programme and is admissions tutor for the taught postgraduate portfolio of programmes in Nursing and Physiotherapy, both at qualifying and post-registration level.
His interests are in developing and implementing education and training for health care professionals, inter-disciplinary shared learning (professional practice and service development) and effective preparation of learners for professional practice and practice development at pre- and post-registration, particularly through an understanding of transformative learning, a theoretical basis for his research interests
Clive Liles Qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in the West Midlands in 1984. He worked in London and Birmingham, developing an interest in Cardiorespirtaory Physiotherapy and Mental Health. He practiced as a full time physiotherapist for six years before leaving his clinical post and entering Higher Education. He has worked in the education and training of physiotherapists and other health professionals across two education providers in the West Midlands. His interest led him to complete his M.A. with the University of Birmingham in 1994, examining aspects of supervision and learner growth. Current interests include developing and implementing effective educational practice in health care professionals, around independent learning and autonomy.
