Birmingham Fellows: Jelle van Lottum

Posted on Wednesday 7th December 2011
The first of our Birmingham Fellows has now joined the School of History and Cultures. Jelle van Lottum joins us from the University of Oxford. Prior to this, Jelle was a British Academy post-doctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge. He works on the economic history of labour migration in the long eighteenth century. He will begin work on his ESRC project, 'Migration, human capital and labour productivity: the international maritime labour market in Europe, c. 1650-1815'. This forms one part of longer term interest in the history of global migrations from 1600 to the present.
