The University hosted its annual History Quest outreach day on Tuesday 27th March, with 250 year 9 and 10 students visiting from nine schools in the West Midlands. The students started with an entertaining and inspiring keynote lecture from Professor Carl Chinn (School of History and Cultures, pictured) and went on to enjoy a subject-taster workshop, campus heritage tour and a History Quest quiz.
The interactive subject taster workshops were designed specifically for the year 9/10 audience and involved talented lecturers and researchers from the Institute of Archaeology and Antiquity, the School of English, Drama and American & Canadian Studies, the School of History and Cultures and the University’s Special Collections team at the Cadbury Research Library.
The event is part of the University’s Raising Aspirations in Secondary Education programme.
The event in 2013 will take place on Tuesday 26 March.
