On behalf of the School of History and Cultures and the History and Cultures Workshop (HCW), Dr William Purkis has made a successful application to the Royal Historical Society's Postgraduate Speakers scheme.
The scheme enables some of the Society's grant-funded scholars to gain experience in presenting research papers and is designed to disseminate the research findings and further advance the scholarly progression of early-career historians whose promise has already been recognised. Dr Purkis and the HCW seminar conveners are now in the process of inviting three RHS-funded speakers to present papers at the HCW seminar series in 2013. Further details of the seminar programme will be announced in due course.
