Postgraduate study in Heritage

Are you looking to develop your career in the field of heritage? Are you already working in the heritage industry and looking to further develop your knowledge, understanding and skills?

Our established postgraduate programmes provide training for students embarking on, or developing careers in, many aspects of heritage.

Over six hundred students have now followed the Masters and Diploma programmes, both on campus in Birmingham and online via Distance Learning. Many now occupy important positions in museums and conservation agencies.

The modular structure of the full-time courses makes them attractive to professional curators, conservationists and archaeologists seeking upward or sideways shifts in their careers, and to international students seeking opportunities for directed study in Britain.

You will have the opportunity to work with museum professionals and world-leading academics to enhance their learning.

Postgraduate scholarships available

Hannah Clancy

After completing an undergraduate degree in archaeology and ancient history, I started to understand that the past is very much present, which sparked my interest in how we manage objects of the past and what that tells us about attitudes and the political/social/cultural climate of today. As I had such a positive experience studying at the university, it was a natural decision to continue my research.
