Coalbrookdale viaduct

The Ironbridge Institute, some 40 miles north-west of Birmingham, lies within the dramatic landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge at the heart of the World Heritage Site and in the historic ironworking community of Coalbrookdale.

It is operated as an equal partnership between the University of Birmingham and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust building on both institutions' experience to provide postgraduate programmes of high quality and value.

Programmes are offered conventionally at Coalbrookdale or in a Distance Learning format. Research students are welcome to undertake work based on the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust's richly endowed library and picture collections on industrial history and archaeology and on its extensive collections of ironwork and ceramics.
