The University of Birmingham, and specifically the Institute of Microbiology and Infection (IMI), was featured in a recent BBC Midlands Today report which focussed on fighting infection and the rise of antibiotic resistance.
The University was descibed as “home to Europe’s newest and largest group of scientists dedicated to fighting infection in all its forms”.
The IMI was established in late 2011 and is a highly specialised site for professors, researchers and PhD students in this field. Its inaugural symposium was held in December 2012 and attracted some major international speakers.
The BBC Midlands Today report featured Professor Ian Henderson, Director of the IMI, and Professor Adam Cunningham. In case you missed it you can view it here.
