Alumna profile: Rubina Khanom

Programmes: LLB Law, (2008)

Rubina graduated with an LLB in 2008. She is currently the Business Development Assistant for The College of Law.

The law degree was a good first stepping stone in preparing me for practice. It taught me essential skills such as research, analytical, and communication skills which have helped in my job role. [It] was an essential component in helping me secure my first job. If I did not complete the law degree, I would not have been able to go on and study the postgraduate course (LPC) that was a requirement for the position I am in now. The part I most enjoy about my job is attending marketing events across the country to speak to students who are interested in a career in law. I absolutely love the travelling, going to new places and advising students on the difficulties and pressures of trying to establish a career in law as I have firsthand experience of the same.
