The University of Birmingham has a thriving population of 148 Singaporean students following a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We currently have twenty LLB students from Singapore studying in the Law School and look forward to building on these numbers in future years.
The UK is the home of Common Law and traditional universities such as Birmingham carry a powerful international reputation leading to enhanced job prospects.
Birmingham Law School visit Singapore each year to speak to prospective students. The trip is normally in April and details will be posted here when they become available.
Birmingham Law School is highly reputable and has a very strong alumni network in Singapore and is known for the quality of education it delivers. Birmingham is also one of a small list of universities in the UK which Singapore recognises and enables me to practice at home after graduation." (Wei Yi Lu, LLB)
Student societies
Many nationality groups form student societies during their time at the University of Birmingham. This is an excellent way to keep in contact with home and also provides an opportunity to highlight your culture and customs in the UK.
We have an active Singaporean Student Society at the University and you are welcome to join their Facebook page. The page has been created by current students and it is a great way to meet other Singaporean students at the university.
Student profiles
We asked some of our Singaporean students to tell us about their experiences during their time studying Law at the University, hear what they had to say through the links below.
