Module description:

The module examines the interface between legal regulation and health care practice. By reference to a series of topical areas it will explore legal and ethical regulatory challenges and dilemmas. Typical issues which will be considered will include:

  • Compensation for clinical malpractice
  • Consent and capacity
  • Regulation of medical genetic technologies
  • Regulation of reproductive technologies
  • Dilemmas at the end of life and organ transplantation.
