You don’t have to do a 3-year degree to complete the academic stage of legal training in order to become a solicitor or barrister. You can satisfy these requirements by studying the one-year Graduate Diploma in Law at Birmingham Law School. If you'd like to know more about the programme and becoming a solicitor or barrister, you can attend our open day on 9 November.
Before undertaking the practical training required to become a solicitor or barrister, you need to get the best academic grounding, and Birmingham is one of only two “redbrick” universities to offer a programme for graduates in just one year.
You will be taught in small groups by expert academics in the Law School building right next to the University Clock Tower.
Further information about the open day, including a schedule and how to sign up, will be available on this page shortly.
